Volunteering

Our club is run by volunteers, we work very hard to provide the most rewarding experience for all participants.

As with many volunteer based clubs we require a Financial Volunteer Commitment from our club members. Fortunately we have many ways in which you and your family can earn this financial commitment back by volunteering.

We are always looking for volunteers to play music, set-up and take-down at special events, and if your children qualify they could possibly be a coaches assistant.

The casino assists our club financially!  These funds assist in ice costs, toys and other teaching aids, etc.  It is the most important way we fundraise.  

Fundraising

Fundraising is an integral part of our figure skating club. The funds raised through these events help cover the expenses of running a Skate Canada figure skating club which includes: purchasing teaching aids, maintaining reduced program fees, hosting special events, assisting with competition expenses, etc.

The fundraising requirements vary each season as the club changes and new fundraisers are discovered.

We require each STARSkate skater to participate in the mandatory fundraising commitment for the season.
